[Moscow – 20.01.2022] InSysBio, one of the world’s pioneers of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) modeling, launches Immune Response Template (IRT) version 3.6.0. IRT represents a QSP platform of immune system simultaneously being a tool for development of models related to immune system.

IRT is a part of InSysBio’s QSP software infrastructure being under constant development and upgrade for both internal and external usage. IRT v.3.6 gets a range of new features:

  • Major equations update: to simplify the direct implementation of IRT equations into other QSP projects, drugs effects description is removed from the major equations describing cell cycles and cytokines secretion. The previous version with implemented drug effects (v.3.5) remains available for users.
  • NK:Target cell synapse with surface molecules passport is added.
  • Macrophages secretion profile is revised and updated.
  • Annotations revision and update: new versions of files describing the way to implement multiple regulators effects (available in any equation with regulators annotation) and calculate parameters from in vitro data (available in annotations of calculated parameters) are introduced.

Veronika Musatova, Head of IRT development team, comments on the update and sheds the light on the further plans, “We strive to simplify the implementation of IRT models into QSP projects. The update introduced in the new version will provide the opportunity to faster adjust exported from the platform equations to the particular goals of other projects thus cutting time costs of model development. Besides, we are expanding the models that describe processes in immunological synapses. It will give way to launch the next version of IRT adapted to modeling of immune response in oncological diseases. We hope to present such a version at the end of March”.

Initially, IRT is based on two main components. On the one hand, it is a fully-fledged database including a wide variety of features covering the immune system. On the other hand, it comprises Navigator that provides intuitive interface to interact with IRT Database. Thus, a modeler can apply calibrated sub-models exported from IRT as building blocks to simplify the model development process.
